Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival

October 16 & 17, 2009

American specialty beers from around the nation will be displayed for participants to sample, savor, and sometimes shun. Come together to learn about the more than 70 beer styles, and the different balances between taste, aroma and appearances. While guest stroll along the 40 plus brewers, the Village of Baytowne Wharf events plaza will host a variety of live music to keep everyone entertained.

Friday, October 16

Beer Seminar- 6pm
Experience the Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival in an intimate setting. This event will feature an informative session on the varying types of ales and a sampling of several specialty beers as a preview to Saturday’s event. Tickets are $13.

Baytowne Beer Tour--7pm
Grab a passport and tour the Village while trying different brews and ales! Visit participating bars and restaurants throughout Baytowne in search of the “mystery” beer, and don’t forget to get your passport stamped!

Beer Wars--7:30pm
Come out and watch an informative beer documentary under the stars. Beer Wars, the movie, takes a look at how small craft breweries are struggling to survive when competing against powerful corporations.

Saturday, October 17

Craft Beer Tasting--2-7pm
This event will feature more than 100 domestic and international craft beers. Brewery representatives will be available offering an opportunity to learn about the different types of lagers and ales from a variety of styles. Live music will be featured throughout the day.

Retail Tent--12-8pm
Purchase your favorite beers from the tasting at the retail tent located outside of Lumpy’s Wine Bar and Bottle Shop. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase specialty beers that are available for the first time and some that are only available in certain areas.

A Taste of France-- Presented by Lumpy's Wine Bar

October 22; 6-8pm

Join Matt Clymer as he features a variety of red and white wine from the Old World Wines collection. Enjoy these pairings with carefully selected cheeses to round out the evening at Lumpy's. As part of the event, discounts will be offered on all bottle purchases.

Marlin Grill Beer Walk About

October 24; 5:00pm

Come join Chef Mike on the patio of Marlin Grill for an eveningof food and beer! Chef Mike will demonstrate his culinary talents through a menu of grilled meats, which he will pair with some of his favorite imported and domestic beers. This outdoor event will be both fun and informative!

Vettes at the Village

October 17, 2009; 12-5pm

In conjunction with the Baytowne Beer Festival, area corvette clubs bring "America's Sports Car" to the Village of Baytowne Wharf. Corvettes will be shined to the max as these automotive icons zoom into the Village streets and park at the Grand Lawn.


Trick or Treat Street at Baytowne

October 31, 2009

Friends, fireworks, and frights! Come experience this family friendly Halloween event.

Trick or treat through the Village streets and visit merchants as they provide you with some of your favorite Halloween treats from 6-7:30pm.

The DJ will play frighteningly good tunes from 6-8pm Come out and decorate your own guitar and jam out on the stage.

Magician Rick Moore will perform a special magic show, featuring a Houdini Escape, at 7:30 and spooky fireworks will light up the sky at 8pm.

To add to the excitement, the Ice Skating Rink will be opening for the season! Come join in the fun as ghouls and goblins of all ages sail across the ice!


Ice Skating Rink

Come out to Trick or Treat Street at Baytowne for the opening of the Ice Skating Rink!

For those visitors who miss the cold and ice, the ice skating rink at The Village of Baytowne Wharf is the perfect opportunity to get into the winter spirit. The seasonal ice skating rink has become a local holiday favorite. For just $8 guests can skate the night away. Skates are available for rent as well for $2.

The rink will open for the season on October 31 from 11am-11pm!


Wednesday Night Concert Series

Enjoy the continuation of the Wednesday Night Concert Series through the month of October. We’ll be tantalizing your musical taste buds with musicians to entertain all of our homeowners and local guests! Village Events Plaza.

October 7- The Last Waltz Ensemble
The Last Waltz progressively plays the music of Bob Dylan and The Band. Their playlist includes over 70 Bob Dylan, The Band and related songs. They never play the same set twice, taking their audience through some of the most timeless music in history.

October 14- Ben Deignan
This up and coming musician out of Atlanta, GA, has been compared to both John Mayer and Maroon 5. He is a crowd pleaser as he croons originals as well as covers.

October 21- Victor Wainwright and the WildRoots
Coming off the release of their first cd, this band is sure to get you on your feet. Come out and enjoy the sounds of Blues 'n' Funk and Rock 'n' Soul from a Jam Band known as Victor Wainwright and the WildRoots.

October 28- Kyle LaMonica
Kyle LaMonica is a local acoustic rock singer/ songwriter. His sound is similar to that of recent popular rock bands such as Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer and Sister Hazel. You can always expect to find vocal harmonies and extensive acoustic guitar work in all of his music.
